Simple Rules To Follow In An Opera House

nightshoot of an opera house
Most of the people aren't ballroom regulars and so don't have a tuxedo or a fur coat waiting for them in the closet for an upcoming visit in an opera house! If you believe that you have to do an outfit makeover in order to watch an opera performance, believe us you are wrong…

Probably it's a lot of fun to dress up for a night at the opera house. It’s an awesome way to demonstrate your vintage pearl necklace or to reuse your totally useless wedding tuxedo…  However, it is not necessary. Nowadays, the dress code in an opera house is far more loose than in the past. During an opera performance you will see women dressed in simple cocktail dresses and men in chinos. Of course there is common sense thinking and you probably know that you cannot go with your swimsuit or with flip flops! Be decent, this is the rule. Avoid tall hats, heavy perfumes and show respect from the other visitors. Also, don;t forget to bring with you an extra layer because in the theater it can get cold.

Arrive early because the ushers will close the doors at the start of the show and may not let you in until there is an intermission. Also, we suggest eating something before going to the opera house as operas can last forever!

Some of the world's best opera performers will use their voices in ways that most humans can only dream of. They're transmitting those notes without amplification to the rear of a big theatre. They're bouncing and trilling, whispering and roaring, and always nailing the correct notes and rhythms. That requires incredible control and years of practice and  u can find the 3 ways for expressing  your admiration:

To congratulate a male performer, shout "bravo". If you want to compliment a female performance, say "brava!" and if you believe that this performance was the result of a team effort then just say "bravi".
